Right On Time

Right on TimeSome people say
Gods judgments are
far off,
Or since His coming’s
delayed,
  that His word is naught.

Don’t be deceived,
God is faithful and true.
Everything He decreed
Will come to pass as issued.

God doesn’t lie;
On Him, you can depend.
Despite what others decry,
His prophecies all transcend.

Believe God’s truth,
Hold fast to every line.
For His own, He’s coming soon;
His word fulfilled, right on time.

Fireworks Explosion ~ Open My Eyes

Fireworks Explosion ~ Open My EyesOpen my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Your law.  Psalm 119:18

This photo is very special because one of my grandsons sat on my lap to look into the camera’s viewfinder, then after I adjusted the settings, he snapped the picture.  Click on photo to enlarge.

The Flowers Fade ~ Daylilies on Display

Yellow brown daylilyWith the onset of Fall, most of my Summer flowers have either faded or withered away.

Orange daylily I thought I would share some photos of daylilies from this past season.

Peach daylilyMost of my daylilies were given to me as transplants from friends.

Yellow daylilyEvery time I see them bloom, I think of the person who shared them with me.

Purple daylilySince daylily blooms are so short-lived, I also think of the familiar passage from Isaiah 40:8 ~

Double yellow daylilyThe grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.
Perhaps in heaven, daylily blooms will last forever!

A nice companion post to my daylily flowers is over at A Woman Like Me ~ My Lilies

Weekly Photo Challenge: Good Morning! ~ Word

A Bible, worn from years of use, is a beautiful sight.

A Bible, worn from years of use, is a beautiful sight.

Morning is the theme this week.  With a photograph, I show something that describes my mornings.

I learned a long time ago, when I start my mornings by reading the Bible and spending time with the Lord, my days go better.  Through our time together, He prepares me for what lies ahead.

At morning’s first light,
may I lay aside other things,
To read from God’s word
And hear His soft whisperings.

Sometimes I get up early enough to have quiet time with the Lord while watching a sunrise!

Fireworks Explosion ~ Wonders From God’s Word

Explosion of beauty

Explosion of beauty ~ this one is my favorite

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword
Hebrews 4:12

On July 4th this year, we attended a fireworks show in the company of some of our Colorado family, which made the evening all the more special.  No matter how many times I see them, I never tire of watching fireworks.  I love hearing the oohs and aah’s from the crowd.  Of hearing from others afterwards which one was their favorite.

Although I enjoy watching them, I had never photographed fireworks, so I decided to try.

With my camera on a tripod and set to manual, I ended up getting some fairly decent shots, which pleasantly surprised me.  After we got back home and I pulled open the images, I discovered how beautiful, in a different way, fireworks are frozen still by a camera’s lens.

As I viewed these and many other photos I took that night, I thought of how after coming to know Christ, the truth of God’s word explodes in our hearts and is even more magnificent to behold.  His word is powerful, quickening and life altering.  It is alive with wondrous beauty.

Since I have so many fireworks photos, I decided it might be fun to post them individually and to use a passage of Scripture along with each.  Nothing else.  Just a brief tag underneath the photo and Scripture.  My goal is to post one weekly, so grab a lawn chair and kick back to watch fireworks ongoing, while at the same time allowing God’s word to do its powerful work!

Be watching for this exciting new series, Fireworks Explosion.  I will post these until I run out of fireworks photos.  However, perhaps I will accumulate more the next time I happen to attend a fireworks show!

Blessings,
