I took these photos while on a sunset stroll around a lake near my home. My focus that evening was on the colorful clouds and their reflections on the lake. Of the two views, I liked the way the clouds looked in the horizontal one better, but the reflections in the vertical view gave them a more dramatic look.
Reflections on water, no matter how still the conditions, always seem to have some distortion. The image is never completely mirror perfect.
It reminds me of how our understanding of things, compared to what we will know one day in heaven, is dim and imperfect. Answers we seek for life’s puzzling circumstances elude us now, but will in heaven become crystal clear.
Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.
