Crowned With the Colors of God’s Glory

Japanese magnolia buds openingColor my life with your love and goodness.
Crown my life with your joy and gladness.
Bring me into your presence and promises.
Guide me into your plans and purposes.

The magnificence of spring is getting ready to burst upon the scene, and with its colors dissipate the dreary landscape of winter.  With one stroke, color will brighten the surroundings, and alter the depressive monotony of cold.

Trials and problems tend to drench us in dreariness.  The enemy prefers we succumb to the insidious clutches of gloom, bitterness and doubt – things that dampen the brilliant hues of joy, mercy and hope.

Yet, in one instant, from a single moment in God’s presence, the radiant colors of His glory burst into our very being.  With one stroke, God transforms a heart faded from doubt and sadness into one saturated with hope and gladness.

Into a life crowned with the colors of God’s glory.

“But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”
Psalm 3:3

I have to ask. Is that picture what’s happening in your world right now? We still have so much snow, I can’t imagine anything like this yet.
As to the rest, it’s truth. Our enemy wants nothing more than to immobilize us (through depression, or any other tool). Thank you, God, for the power of the resurrection that is in us! What better time to remember than Spring.

Yes. It’s a picture of the blooms of my Japanese magnolia opening. Daffodils in full bloom. I agree with your sentiments about how spring reminds of the power of the resurrection. Thanks.

Beautiful analogy and images! Can you ask the Lord to send some spring up this way? We are forecast to receive another major snowstorm. [chuckle] Just kidding. I’m enjoying the pink blooms from an indoor cactus. 😀

Ha. At least you have some color! I admire those who endure the hard winters up north. Got somewhat used to it when I lived in CO, but nothing like what some deal with. Blessings as you await spring. Got to 80 degrees here. Near ’bout summer! 😊
