Moonrise ~ Reflection of God’s Magnificence

Moonrise Reflect

Moonrise Reflect ~ my favorite

‘Tis easiest
When one sees the moon,
To sing enthralled
With a catchy tune.

Like a line from
Silvery Moon first,
Followed up with
A Moonshadow verse.

But songs inspired,
  Can never depict
God’s wondrous ways,
Or His might eclipse.

The moon and stars,
Mere reminders of
The God who formed
Everything above.

Far best when we
View the lunar light,
To praise the One
Whose works bring delight.

Words can’t describe,
Nor fully reflect,
Such matchless awe;
God’s magnificence.

When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained; what is man, that Thou art mindful of him?
Psalm 8:3,4

Moonrise Shore

I hope you enjoyed my moon pictures taken while at the beach recently.  I enjoy songs like Moonshadow and By the Light of the Silvery Moon; however, when observing the moon’s splendor, I would rather sing praises to the God who formed it.

Moonrise Last

Moonrise Last

I will always treasure the time spent with my husband on this beautiful evening, and will remember the magnificence of the moon.  Above is one last view before it slipped behind the clouds.

Got a favorite of these photos?  I’d love to know which one!

These are all wonderful … I love the reflection of the moon in the water in the first one … so maybe that is my favorite. When I read you poem, I was reminded that one day, when God makes all things new, and the heavens and earth pass away and there will be a new heaven and a new earth, God Himself will be our Light. If these glimpses are so beautiful, what will it be like when we have God to gaze upon then? Thanks for drawing my heart closer to Him, this morning.

I have loved everything you’ve shared on this post and the last two – your poetry and reflections on God’s magnificent handiwork; and your photographs have been breathtaking. To me, there is no more perfect place than the beach to photograph sunsets and sunrises; and that you got a shot of the full moon rising – how awesome!! A number of years ago I was out on the beach early one morning, and on one side was the moon and Venus (the morning star), just over my shoulder on the other side the sun was just starting to pink the sky and out over the ocean a storm was rolling in with the most gorgeous thick rolling clouds. I was in awe. This was before I started taking my camera everywhere, so no photograph, but the image is forever fixed in my memory. 🙂

I love when the moon is partially clothed by thin clouds. So pretty. I also love this stanza in your poem:

    But songs inspired,
    Can never depict
    God’s wondrous ways,
    Or His might eclipse.

Thank you Rene. I sometimes wish that I had a telephoto in order to get closer shots of the moon, but with it just coming up on the horizon it looked larger than usual. Hope you have a great weekend. Have been enjoying the photos you took on your trip.
