Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him
Psalm 127:3
Twenty years ago today, I gave birth to my son in Homer, Alaska. Since he was my little Alaskan baby, I decorated his nursery in a whale theme. The nostalgia associated with the whale music box tugs at my heart, because I played it every time I rocked him in my arms. It plays the song, Love Makes the World Go Round. I still remember singing along with the tune like it was yesterday.
Children really do grow up in a blink.
The following verse is a special promise God gave to me years ago about my son, and one that I have watched Him fulfill:
I was cast upon Thee from the womb: Thou art my God from my mother’s belly.
Psalm 22:10
I pray blessings over you, my son, and for many more years on this earth. You are a gift from God.
P.S. Happy Birthday, my no-longer-little Alaskan!

What a lovely memory. Where is your son now and how had God continued to move in his life? I want to know more! 🙂 I feel old. I have grandchildren older than your son.
Thanks…my son is attending college about an hour or so from our home. We see him infrequently, but love it when we do! BTW–you are not old unless you feel old!! 🙂

Yes, they do. Our “baby” is 35!. Wonderful post.
Note to bittygirl51: Someone once told me, or I read it somewhere, that they didn’t start feeling old until their children began to collect Social Security! 🙂
Oh, wow…our kids collecting social security. Glad I’m not there yet! Thanks and blessings!
