God is For Me ~ He is Ever On My Side

I chose this photo of a red Amaryllis because of how ragged and beat up it looks.  It reminds me that even though our enemy tries to destroy us, with the blood of Christ covering us, the devil will never succeed.

I’ve been beat up,
But not as bad as some.
I’ve been struck down,
But never overcome.

I’ve been hard-pressed,
But not beyond repair.
I’ve been confounded,
But never left in despair.

I’ve been mistreated,
But not like One I know.
I’ve been tormented,
But never left alone.

I’ve been afflicted,
But not always for what I’ve done.
I’ve been troubled,
But never left undone.

God is for me,
He is ever on my side.
Every attack by the enemy,
God will always override.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed;
we are perplexed, but not in despair;
persecuted, but not forsaken;
cast down, but not destroyed
2 Corinthians 4:8,9
