My dad was as close
To perfect as it gets.
He was the kind of father
I will never forget.
Not all are like him;
Some dads were absent.
Yours may have left memories
You wish to forget.
No matter which type
Of earthy dad we were given,
We all have the chance
To know the One up in heaven.
He is the type of Father,
Whose love will erase
All the wounds from your past,
Which your own dad did create.
You may not have had a dad
Who, while on earth, your life did bless.
God understands, though, and loves you more.
Our heavenly Father is the very best.

I sure miss my sweet daddy. He was so wonderful! The most important thing he ever taught me, though, was to love my heavenly Father, for which I am forever grateful.
Blessings, and Happy Father’s Day!

Sue, my dad had three daughters and we all can say today . . . there is no other man like him! God took him quickly one night from us . . . without warning. . . and the pain at times has been unbearable! But if he was a glimpse as to my how my heavenly Father’s loves me . . . .then I have been truly blessed by my earthly one. Daddy . . . I cannot wait till we meet again . . . I love you so very much and miss you more than what my words could ever express. I wish we could have said goodbye . . . but I know we will greet each other one day soon in our Father’s kingdom! Thank you Sue for stirring up these wonderful memories of a father that was as good as they come . . . ~ Blessings ~
Deborah Ann, your words about your dad have rekindled more of my sweet memories of my dad. Yours sounds like he, too, was the kind of dad many children only dream of having. We were both blessed. I am so sorry for the way you lost him, but how wonderful a promise we have in Christ knowing we will see them again and I agree with you- I think it will be very soon. Thanks for sharing.
That’s sweet of him 🙂
God is so good and is such a wonderful Father to those of us in Christ. Blessings
Blessings to you too
Sue, what a wonderful tribute and testimony to your dad and our heavenly Father. Thank you! I love your blog and wish you the best!
Thanks so much for your kind words. As much as I miss my dad, since I have the love of my heavenly Father, I have comfort and peace awaiting our eternal reunion. Blessings.
I miss my Daddy, too. And I love your photo!
So sorry for your loss, Rene. Always makes Father’s Day bittersweet. Thanks. Was actually his tie, too. I did not know that until after I took the picture. I went in the closet and chose a tie from my husband’s collection, thinking it was one of his. He told
me later that it was one he kept from some of my dads things which mom wanted him to have. Isn’t that neat how God knew that when I chose it? Almost like He orchestrated it!!
Yes! That is soooo neat! 🙂
Beautifully done, as always. And what a blessing we had such great fathers. We rejoice in our dad’s memory every day and thank God for letting us have him as long as we did. Blessed indeed! S & S
Amen, I feel exactly the same. I get a mental picture of both of our dads having already met in heaven, discussing how their daughters are down here bragging on them! Blessings
